Dry Kiln Short Course 2013

Southeast Dry Kiln Club Dry Kiln Short Course 2013-July 16th to 19th, 2013

The Wood Products Extension Department is hosting a Dry Kiln Short Course with the Southeast Dry Kiln Club at Haywood Technical Community College at Clyde, North Carolina. This four day short course will take a pack of green hardwood lumber and dry it using professional industry methods in a conventional steam lumber dry kiln. This class will teach wood moisture concepts, taking lumber samples, proper sampling techniques, principles of schedules, methods to reduce stain and drying degrade, moisture content calculations, moisture meters, dry kiln equipment and dry kiln management concepts.
