David Cruz

David Cruz is a 3rd-year doctoral student at NC State and a team member of the SAFI consortium. David’s research explores technically and economically viable alternatives for biomass and industrial solid waste valorization. He has focused on understanding the effect of operational settings on the minimum product-selling price of bio-based jet fuel obtained via enzymatic and multi-step catalytic conversion of paper sludge. David’s background includes a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Colombia, and over seven years of experience leading optimization projects in the pulp and paper industry.
