Next Gen Fibers

A strategic partnership between the Sustainable & Alternative Fibers Initiative (SAFI), the Rockefeller Foundation, Climate Breakthrough, and Canopy will fund a research project across three years (2023-2026) to assess the sustainability and carbon footprint of conventional and alternative fibers. Alternative fibers refer to fibers from agricultural residues (e.g. wheat straw) and process wastes (e.g. textile waste) suitable for converting into textiles, nonwoven substrates, hygiene products, and paper packaging.
