The United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) has a variety of internships available for the 2022-2023 season with Carolina Junior Hurricanes. Located in Morrisville, NC at the brand-new Wake Competition Center, these internships include home game support during the entire duration of the season. Broadcast Internship with Carolina Jr. Hurricanes
Reserved for Freshmen and Sophomores: Broadcast Intern will work closely with the broadcast crew on game days helping with production and being a color commentator. Goal is to shadow senior broadcasting team and take over their position on the broadcast and live pregame show the following season. Requirements: Strong knowledge of hockey, Good writing and communication skills, Assist in color commentating games, Attend 75% of weekly team meetings an Saturday night games (Sundays are preferred as well, but Saturdays are required).

Photography Internship with Carolina Jr. Hurricanes
For college student pursuing degree in sports related field: Photography/ Videography Intern creates content for the social media team. This includes the pre-season hype video, creation of GIFS for twitter, weekend recaps, etc. Great opportunity to build a large digital portfolio. Requirements: Experience in sports videography/videography, Access to your own camera equipment and editing software, Attention to detail, Able to attend Saturday night games (Sundays are preferred as well, but Saturdays are required).

Social Media Internship with Carolina Jr. Hurricanes
For college student pursuing degree in sports related field: Social Media Intern will primarily run the Twitter account on game days posting live scoring updates, photo/video content, etc. Intern works closely with social media coordinator and digital media interns following the content calendar and creative guidebook. Requirements: Basic knowledge and understanding of Twitter, Good writing and communication skills, Strong knowledge of hockey, Attention to detail, Able to attend Saturday night games (Sundays are preferred as well, but Saturdays are
required).

Analytics Internship with Carolina Jr. Hurricanes
For college student pursuing degree in sports related field: Analytics Intern records game statistics for both elite and premier teams to assist in player and team development. Statistics are used in the live pregame show and post game write ups. Great opportunity for someone who would like experience in an analytics position within the industry. Requirements: Record game statistics such as saves, shots on goal, faceoff win percentage, etc for all home games, Attend MAJORITY of home games, Strong understanding and knowledge of the sport.

Marketing Internship with Carolina Jr. Hurricanes
For college student pursuing degree in sports related field: Marketing Intern oversees all areas of marketing! Requirements: Work on brand development in the community, Able to attend 75% of our weekly intern meetings, Locate and acquire new sponsorship opportunities for the team, Assist in the Fan First marketing plan development, Implement marketing plan for the upcoming season and future seasons, Assist t in contacting different sponsors/local companies for promotional night opportunities and assist in game night operations.

Arena Announcing Internship with Carolina Jr. Hurricanes
For college student pursuing degree in sports related field: Arena Announcing Intern provides entertainment to the game day experience and gives individuals the opportunity to gain real world experience in announcing. Requirements: Work game days announcing players, starting line-ups, goals and assists, penalties, Run music in-between puck drops, Attend every Saturday night home game. Sunday is preferred but Saturday night is required.

Ticket and Merchandise Sales Internship with Carolina Jr. Hurricanes
For college student pursuing degree in sports related field: Marketing Sales Intern oversees all areas of sales in the ticket and merchandise departments. Requirements: Run the team store at all home games, Able to attend 75% of all weekly meetings, Assist team in single ticket sales, Attend community events to sell our merchandise, Brainstorm and develop new ticket sales strategies/ ticket packages.

Graphic Design Internship with Carolina Jr. Hurricanes
For college student pursuing degree in sports related field: Graphic Design Intern create story graphics, game day graphics, and any related graphic for the social media team and marketing team. Huge opportunity to build a digital portfolio and gain real world experience in working in graphic design in a sports setting. Requirements: Experience in Graphic Design, Access to your own graphic design software, Good communication skills, Attention to detail.
