Day 9 and 10 – Last days and returning home

Day 9 and 10 – By Gianna Wessler, Weston Cregger and Cori Sutton

The prior night, NC State and TAMK students and professors enjoyed each other’s company over some karaoke. After an early two hour bus ride from Tampere to Helsinki airport, several student groups set out to explore more of Finland’s capital.

A tiring morning of travel had students looking for a filling lunch place to satisfy their cravings

The afternoon consisted of thrifting, souvenir shopping, general sightseeing, and a visit to the local botanical gardens. Two especially ambitious students set out to visit Tallinn, Estonia during their free time.

After dinner, several students visited the sauna one final time. The relaxing evening came to end over some board games – Coup has become a trip favorite! Students said goodbye to their peers continuing their travels to explore more of Europe prior to the full-time and internship start dates.

3:30 am wake up alarms sounded up and down the hotel halls to make the early morning breakfast. The first leg of the return trip was a two and a half hour flight to Munich, Germany. During the five hour layover, most students caught up on sleep and grabbed lunch inside the terminal. The final leg of the return trip is a 10 hour transatlantic flight back to Charlotte.
