There are five links to past US Forest Service projects that generated support publications in the form of written reports, advisory notes, slide shows and videos.&nbsp; Additional documents and slide shows are available on the Home page as downloads from past workshops given by the Wood Products Extension Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Publications include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/outreach.cnr.ncsu.edu\/ncwood\/documents\/wildlifecraftwoodproductsbusinesses_000.pdf\">Business Strategies for Craft Wildlife Wood Products Businesses<\/a>-a short publication that discusses business strategy for a small shop focusing on producting and marketing wildlife habitat wood products.<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/outreach.cnr.ncsu.edu\/ncwood\/documents\/SperryHutchinsonDryKilnOperatorsManual1970s.pdf\">1970&#8217;s Sperry and Hutchinson Company Dry Kiln Operators Manual<\/a>-this publication was developed by the S &amp; H Research Division as a training publication for new and experienced dry kiln operators.\u00a0 It taught basic principles of wood drying as well as the proper operation of a lumber dry kiln.\u00a0 Additionally there is a checklist for operators to review their equipment and operations as well as a troubleshooing guide.\u00a0 It is a shorter version of the US Forest Service&#8217;s Dry Kiln Operators Manual that can be found on the US Forest Service Publications website.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/research.cnr.ncsu.edu\/ncwood\/wp-admin\/upload.php?item=483\">Small Sawmill Business Guide 2022<\/a>-a guide for small sawmill business owners and managers on the details of operating a successful small sawmill operation.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/research.cnr.ncsu.edu\/ncwood\/wp-admin\/upload.php?item=482\">Small Dry Kiln Business Guide 2022<\/a>-a guide for small dry kiln business owners and managers on the details of operating a success small dry kiln business.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/research.cnr.ncsu.edu\/ncwood\/wp-admin\/upload.php?item=481\">Live Edge Slab Business Guide 2022<\/a>-a guide for live edge slab business owners and managers on the details of operating a successful live edge slab business.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wood Products Publications One can find over a hundred publications from past projects at Harry Watt&#8217;s common web page at www.cnr.ncsu.edu\/usfs.
