New NC Forest Service/US Forest Service Secondary Wood Products Industry Online Directory Project
This grant project coordinates with nearby Southeast US states an effort to promote each state’s wood products businesses by creating an online searchable wood products business directory. Users will be able to search for businesses that manufacture secondary value added wood products. This project for North Carolina started July 1, 2013 and the initial phase will be to collect information about the state’s approximately two thousand wood products businesses that will be used to populate the online database.
Harry Watt of NCSU Wood Products Extension is collecting the business information that includes contact information, wood products purchased as well as wood products manufactured, the location of the manufacturing facilities and other helpful information to those looking to offer wood materials to these businesses and to purchase their products.
