Mark your calendars for the 2022 CNR Graduate Research Symposium!

Wednesday, March 23rd, 12 – 5:30pm, Talley Student Union.

Once again we will have a poster competition and 3MT competition (Three Minute Thesis) celebrating the work of our graduate students.

The day will conclude with an awards presentation, accompanied by appetizers and an ice cream social!

Join us for the Fourth Annual CNR Graduate Research Symposium on March 23, 2022.

We are excited to announce that CNR’s 2022 Graduate Research Symposium will be held in person on Wednesday, March 23rd, from 12-5:30pm in Talley Student Union (Hatteras-Ocracoke & Currituck Ballrooms).

We encourage everyone in the CNR community to participate. This is a chance for us all to reconnect and learn about the amazing research our graduate students conduct.

The events will include a poster session and Three Minute Thesis (3MT) presentations, along with opening remarks by Dean Myron Floyd, and a closing awards ceremony.

This year’s research categories include:

Human dimensions and community health
Land, wildlife, water and forest system management
Sustainable materials, technologies, and economies

Master’s and PhD students will compete for a range of monetary prizes that will be awarded in both the poster and 3MT competitions. Postdocs are encouraged to present a poster, but are not eligible to participate in the competition.

Registration for participants will remain open from February 7th – March 1st. Upon registration, participants must provide a short abstract of their research that will appear in the digital program.

Attendees are requested to RSVP by March 15th. Your RSVP helps us to plan for food and beverage needs, so please let us know your plans to attend as early as possible.

We will need judges! Please look for upcoming announcements and consider volunteering!

This year’s event is sponsored by the CNR Research Office. It will showcase and celebrate the outstanding research, teaching, and extension of graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and their faculty advisers or mentors in the Departments of Forestry and Environmental Resources, Forest Biomaterials, and Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management, and the Center for Geospatial Analytics, in the College of Natural Resources at NC State University.
