2015 Prescribed Fire Council Meetings

It’s that time of year again…….the season for annual Prescribed Fire Council meetings!

Organized at the state and local level, Prescribed Fire Councils (PFCs) offer information-sharing and networking opportunities for private landowners, fire practitioners, agencies, non-governmental organizations, policymakers, and regulators. Members promote prescribed burning by increasing public understanding of the regional importance and benefits of prescribed fire, and by encouraging the exchange of information, techniques, and experiences among practitioners of prescribed fire.

Annual meetings usually consist of presentations, reports, updates, and field trips. Continuing education credits are often available for attendees. The annual meetings allow you the opportunity to network with others who are interested in prescribed fire and to share information about training opportunities, liability concerns, habitat management, firing techniques, and many other fire-related topics.
